Eat More Veggies!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been visiting organized activities with Coach Johnson. She graciously let me pull aside students to take a fruit and vegetable survey.  Working with Kindergarten through 3rd, I discovered that CHILHOWEE STUDENTS DO NOT EAT ENOUGH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.  This is not a good thing or something to laugh about.
I know that fruits and vegetables can taste bitter or flavorless; however, there are many ways of eating them.  They can be a part of the main course, cooked in with all the yummy flavors.  They can be snacks with peanut butter or maybe - a little - chocolate.  My challenge to you is to make half of what you eat everyday fruits and vegetables.  That’s 50%, and I know it sounds like a lot - that’s why it’s a challenge.  I’ve listed a healthy recipe site to get you started.     There are all kinds of fruits and vegetables out there and thousands of ways of eating them - not just raw and uncooked.  Try something new this month.
