"Last year I had the privilege to work with the Commit-2B-Fit Team.  My responsibilities included Nutrition for the Elementary students and Archery Club after school, along with assisting with data-collection and any other items that I needed help with.  I really enjoyed being able to work with the elementary students and get to know them.

With Nutrition we learned the food groups and what nutrients each food group provided us.  We played games, wrote stories, and sang songs all about food.  Working with Elementary students is a lot different then working with middle school and high school students.   I got to know a lot of the siblings of the students I have in class.

In archery club, we were able to have up to 25 students at once.  We were able to have 4 students shoot while the other students play organized games to get them active.  We met several times and I feel the students developed a lot of confidence in their shooting.​
During Data collection time, I got to help with pedometers.  The students wear them for seven days so we were always changing batteries, and replacing missing or broken ones.  I also would help compile data to be sent in for reporting.  It was great to see the improvement over time and how the students challenged themselves to do better each time we collected data."
